Restaurant Bar and Meeting Centre De Engel is situated in the eponymous hamlet in the flower village of Lisse. A name which originates from Herberg de Witte Engel, a very popular place in the 17th century.
Nowadays flowers play a very important role in De Engel’s image. The famous flower parade passes our restaurant every year and the hotel rooms have been decorated with flower print. A colourful legacy from the nineteen twenties, when the flower bulb trade flourished in De Engel and was well known as a direct result of this. Café De Engel had already been around for a number of decades at that time. It started out as a café in 1897, was taken over by the family Juffermans in 1929 and developed into a phenomenon in the dune and bulb district and the name ‘at Juf’s’ is now a true concept. In addition to a delicious drink, De Engel can offer the perfect setting for weddings and parties and is a great place for anyone wishing to enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner, conduct a business meeting and/or stay in the adjacent hotel.
The third generation of Juffermans is now proudly at the helm and everyone works hard at creating a friendly and hospitable environment every single day, allowing our guests to feel right at home.
